The Manly Warringah Gymnastic Club (MWGC) is a community based, non-profit
sporting organization. It is run by a Management Committee of parents and
interested parties and offers a broad range of coaching programs focused
on the requirements of the individual gymnast. We are located at Allambie
Heights and service not only the Peninsular or Northern Beaches areas of
Sydney, but also the shires of Mosman, Ku-ring-gai and Willoughby.
Our coaching programs range from Recreational, Kindy Gym and Junior Gym, where the focus is on fun, fitness and friendship in an environment that develops strength, balance, flexibility and reflexes whilst teaching general gymnastic skills. Additionally, more advanced competitive classes (the Australian Gymnastics Federation "AGF" Levels Scheme) where higher grade skills are progressively taught and participants may qualify to compete in State, National and International competitions are supported. We also run Schools Programs (PE and Sport) for a number of the local educational institutions and school holiday activities in the gym during all school vacations.
The above in-gym programs involve the use of all the Olympic Gymnastic Apparatus (Vault, Beam, Uneven Bars and Sprung Floor for the Womens Artistic Gymnastic Stream "WAG" and Vault, Pommel Horse, Roman Rings, Parallel Bars, High Bar and Sprung Floor for the Mens Artistic Gymnastic Stream "MAG" as well as Trampolines, Sprung Tumbling Strips, Crash Pits and a variety of lead up devices. The skills taught include acrobatics, tumbling and dance and endow the participants with an impressive physique, poise and self confidence that will not only enable them to excel in Gymnastics but will give them a healthy life style and an excellent foundation stone for most other sports and indeed for the many challenges that life may present them with.
